The Challenge
As a long-time user of the PeopleSoft Finance application, Adams 12 Five Star Schools found itself in urgent need of a PeopleSoft finance upgrade to remain supported by Oracle. At the same time, the district’s finance team was underutilizing the application’s capabilities, and the district’s business processes had fallen out of alignment with how the system was configured. This pushed a significant amount of work outside PeopleSoft into Excel spreadsheets, requiring data to be imported and exported manually to complete routine business processes.
The Solution
Adams 12 consulted WorkStream to complete a PeopleSoft finance upgrade from version 9.1 to 9.2, paired with a strategic alignment between the district’s desired business processes and the application’s configuration. Over a nine-month project, WorkStream evaluated 40 distinct business processes through a Fit/Gap analysis, documenting findings that were reviewed and approved by the Adams 12 finance team, then conducted a full upgrade of the PeopleSoft Finance application to bring Adams 12 back into compliance with Oracle’s support requirements. The project was completed within its predefined time frame and met every strategic objective Adams 12 identified going in. On the strength of that result, WorkStream was then selected as Adams 12’s PeopleSoft AMS provider, a relationship that has continued for over ten years.
