The Challenge
Due to a variety of factors, including corporate reorganizations, job changes, retirements, and other organizational shifts, LG&E was having difficulty staffing its internal team to support its PeopleSoft HCM application, with specific gaps in PeopleSoft administration knowledge, development capabilities, and functional business process analysis. LG&E was looking for a consulting firm that could provide comprehensive application management services for the application.
The Solution
WorkStream was selected as LG&E’s PeopleSoft HCM AMS provider. WorkStream’s 15-year history and proven AMS model allowed it to build a five-consultant support team around LG&E’s specific pain points, covering PeopleSoft administration, development, and functional business process analysis. Through that AMS offering, WorkStream completed annual PeopleTools upgrades, annual PUM updates, and quarterly PeopleSoft patching to keep the application supported and compliant with legislative and regulatory changes. That same team also handled ongoing development and business analyst work, including payroll enhancements and upgrades, support for all interfaces into and out of PeopleSoft, and strategic guidance to LG&E’s leadership team. Together, that support kept the PeopleSoft application available, stable, and performing as expected, with 100 percent accuracy against defined SLA metrics and 99.998 percent availability.
The Results
- 100% SLA accuracy — WorkStream maintained 100 percent accuracy against LG&E’s defined SLA metrics.
- 99.998% availability — WorkStream kept LG&E’s PeopleSoft HCM application available 99.998 percent of the time.
- Annual upgrade cadence maintained — Annual PeopleTools and PUM upgrades, plus quarterly patching, kept the application current and compliant.
- Five-consultant team built — A dedicated five-consultant team spanning administration, development, and business analysis filled LG&E’s internal staffing gaps.
