Heading into a holiday weekend and the last thing on your mind is having to worry about your database logs filling up, weekend DB patching work,  SQL Statement tuning and all the administrative grind associated with a classic RDBMS environment.  It’s time to pack a cooler and enjoy the last few warm days of summer by the pool with friends and family (socially distanced, of course).

But, with PeopleSoft, this has never been possible – until now!  In case it missed your inbox, Oracle has enabled support for Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB) running on Exadata for PeopleSoft.  This is very exciting news and opens up a new world for PeopleSoft clients that are invested in:

• Reducing the overall operating costs of their ERP systems
• Reducing technical debt
• Improving their PeopleSoft and ERP support and operational model

While this is still new and will take some cycle time to become production-ready, the concept of running an on-premise ERP application on an autonomous database is very exciting.
